Frequently Asked Questions
I use mailing list software, Does CBServers see it as spam?

Mailing lists to keep customers informed of events and product releases can be a vital communication link to your customers. CBServers recognise the importance of these services and offer the following points that should be included in most responsible mailing list schemes;

  • a verification "Opt-in" email should be sent to the users email address to confirm that they requested it.

  • a method to unsubscribe should be included at the bottom of every email sent from that mailing list.

  • Mailing lists operators should never sell and/or distribute their lists. This should also be listed in the Term of Service for the mailing list.

If you intend to use mailing list scripts on your site, as a courtesy,  send us a help desk support ticket, to advise us of it, include a link to the script authors web site. This way if there are any issues, we can contact you before it becomes a battle field and if we receive a complaint, we will know the steps you've taken beforehand, which can put events in a different light.

It is unfortunate that the deeds of the few low life individuals cause the restrictions of the freedoms of rest of the responsible internet community.
